Compliance and deliverability platform Sonera has opened a downtown Austin office at 823 Congress Avenue, marking a deliberate expansion into one of the country’s most competitive tech talent markets. Formed in July 2026 through the merger of DNC.com and Pure CallerID, the private equity-backed company screens 1.8 billion phone numbers monthly against federal, state, and litigation risk data while processing more than 200 million caller identity and delivery transactions. In August, Sonera closed its acquisition of Blacklist Alliance and Number Verifier, consolidating list scrubbing, litigator screening, caller identity, and number remediation onto a single platform. The company serves enterprises in financial services, healthcare, insurance, and other regulated industries.

CEO Mark Mitchell cited Austin’s depth of engineering, data, and AI talent as a primary factor in the location decision. Sonera plans to grow its Austin team and expand the platform into AI-led capabilities, including pre-dial decision intelligence and real-time governance for agentic outreach.

Sonera’s arrival adds a specialized compliance technology employer to Austin’s already dense enterprise software scene, bringing high-skill roles in data, AI, and regulated-industry software to the city’s core and reinforcing Austin’s position as a destination for companies building at the intersection of AI and compliance.
